The scheme aimed to enhance accessibility within Doncaster so that active travel could become a viable alternative to the private car. The scheme provided a combination of off-road cycle facilities and on-road quiet ways, connecting Doncaster town centre with Doncaster Royal Infirmary, employment and retail zones located northeast of the town centre and a significant residential catchment area which is within 2.0km cycle of the town centre. The project delivered 15.1km of new and improved active travel routes, 4 new pedestrian crossings, and 20 improved pedestrian crossings
