The South Yorkshire Rail Station Improvements project delivered a package of improvements at 11 stations across South Yorkshire. The aim of the project was to provide customers with safe and secure facilities that are accessible, gives readily available service information, and offers a pleasant waiting environment with appropriate amenities.  The stations improved were Barnsley, Bolton-on-Dearne, Darton, Elsecar, Wombwell, Adwick, Bentley, Conisborough, Hatfield & Stainforth, Kirk Sandall and Mexborough.

Works were substantailly complete in May 2024.
