The key towns and core city of the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority region are undergoing a private sector led urban renaissance. The SYMCA uses its available capital funding to help unlock private sector investment including transport connectivity.

The scheme establishes Central Riverside as a distinctive location for new businesses and improve links between the Riverside Business District, and city centre. It also enhances the River Don and improves flood defences.

This project, which has completed, included a contribution from the Government’s Local Growth Fund resources which is part of the Government’s continued investment in the Northern Powerhouse.

This investment is expected to deliver 1890 jobs.
