The project aims to support residents to acquire the skills and qualifications to support growth in our key industries. 

The project included the purchase of equipment to upgrade the current CNC Turning Centre, Hydraulic Training Rig and purchase the VRTEX Virtual Welder to support technical skills development for Engineering students.

This project, which has completed, included a contribution from the Government’s Local Growth Fund resources which is part of the Government’s continued investment in the Northern Powerhouse.

SYMCA LGF allocation: £243,000
Total project cost: £369,000
