DONCASTER URBAN CENTRE - WATERFRONT WEST

The key towns and core city of the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority region  are undergoing a private sector led urban renaissance. The SYMCA uses its available capital funding to help unlock private sector investment including transport connectivity.

Waterfront West has strengthened and improved an existing bridge which provides access to the site of a planned £8.5million Network Rail National Maintenance Headquarters.

This project, which has completed, includes a contribution from the Government’s Local Growth Fund resources which is part of the Government’s continued investment in the Northern Powerhouse.

This investment is planning to deliver 660 jobs.

SYMCA LGF allocation: £750,000
Total project cost: £1,500,000
