Published 18 August 2021 at 2:51pm
Investing in infrastructure, including highways is a key part of our efforts to unlock economic growth in the South Yorkshire region.
The Worksop schemes are a series of highway improvements, split over three phases, contributing to the redevelopment of a key brownfield employment site (Vesuvius Works), ultimately leading to the creation of between 2,500 to 6,000 new jobs over 15 years and contributing to the development of circa 48 hectares of new employment land and 1,600 new houses.
This project, which has completed, includes a contribution from the Government’s Local Growth Fund resources which is part of the Government’s continued investment in the Northern Powerhouse.
This investment is planning to deliver 915 jobs.
SYMCA LGF allocation: £1,150,560
Total project cost: £1,781,302
