JUNCTION 36 STRATEGIC SITE ACQUISITION

The key towns and core city of the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority region are undergoing a private sector led urban renaissance. The SYMCA uses its available capital funding to help unlock private sector investment including transport connectivity.

This project involves the acquisition of strategic employment land off the Dearne Valley Parkway to facilitate early delivery of the site, and contribute to housing and employment along the M1 J36 – A6195 Dearne Valley Economic Growth Corridor (Phase 1 Hoyland).

This project, which has completed, included a contribution from the Government’s Local Growth Fund resources which is part of the Government’s continued investment in the Northern Powerhouse.

This investment is expected to deliver 162 net jobs.

Total project cost: £50,899,600
