Harworth and Bircotes Phase 1

HARWORTH AND BIRCOTES PHASE 1

Published 17 August 2021 at 11:30am

Investing in improved transport connectivity across the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority region is a key priority.

Bassetlaw District Council's Local Plan aims to build 1500 new homes and create almost 100 hectares of new employment land over the next 15 years in Harworth and Bircotes. This requires four junction improvements in two phases. This scheme includes improvements centred around the A1 and Blyth Road.

This project, which is complete, includes a contribution from the Government’s Local Growth Fund resources which is part of the Government’s continued investment in the Northern Powerhouse.

This investment is expected to deliver 2281 jobs.

SYMCA LGF allocation: £450,000
Total project cost: £3055,000
