FESTIVAL OF THEATRE, MUSIC & DANCE COMES TO SOUTH YORKSHIRE!

Grimm & Co has announced the dates for an exciting pop-up festival, known as Grimm’s Gathering, which celebrates stories and features masterclasses with leading musicians, authors and artist workshops.
The festival of theatre, music and dance, will take place at the Old Town Hall and Linger Longer Lane in Rotherham from 10am to 4pm on 31st May, 1st June and 4th June, supported by the Children’s Capital of Culture and funded by the South Yorkshire Mayor’s ARG Arts & Culture Fund.
The streets surrounding the Old Town Hall will be alive with street theatre and wandering musicians. There will be drop-in and make activities for young and old, from puppets with Patrick Amber, carnival-inspired headdresses and masks with artists from the UK Centre of Carnival Arts to pop-up cards with Paper Engineer Alex Bennett and origami adventures with Nick Origami.

Music making for under 7s with BBC Radio 2 Folk award nominated Rosie Hood.

Opportunities for older lyricists, singers and rappers age 13+ to join one of the PATTERN Masterclasses to refine their vocal talent, lyric-writing and performance skills with support from music industry professionals such as Coco, Sarah Jay Hawley (Massive Attack) and Seppy (Deuxe).

Sing or rap at the PUSH Performance Day for a chance to win a slot at Tramlines 2022!
Artists Trish O’Shea, Mooney Wainwright and Karen Hall want to hear your stories of Rotherham and how you made it your home. There will be theatre for the under 7s with tales of grumpy crabs and owl babies. A dance class in Flamenco with Rosamaria Cisneros professional dancer and Romani studies scholar, and several events to get your write-on with published authors and writers, including Jenni Spangler, LD Lapinski and Journalist Susan Downer.
