UPPER DON VALLEY FLOOD ALLEVIATION SCHEME

Removing the barriers to economic development is a key part of the South Yorkshire MCA investment programme; this includes flood alleviation schemes.

This project is currently in delivery. The proposal works in the catchment of the Upper Don and provides improved resilience to flooding to households, commercial properties, transport and other critical infrastructure. This will enable the opening of development sites for housing and commercial development.

This project, which is currently in delivery, includes a contribution from the Government’s Local Growth Fund resources which is part of the Government’s continued investment in the Northern Powerhouse.

Total project cost: £5,460,000
