Have your say on dogs on trams

DOGS ON TRAMS CONSULTATION

The public consultation is now open. It closes noon on Monday 3rd March 2025.

It is currently only possible for dogs (except assistance dogs) to be carried on the South Yorkshire Supertram system within a carry cage. This differs to other transport modes in South Yorkshire, where dogs are allowed on most buses and trains without the need to be taken in a carry cage.

Last year, SYMCA took the Supertram system back under public control as an initial step in our mission to build an integrated transport network. We are now consulting on changing the conditions of carriage to remove the requirement for dogs to be held in a carry cage when travelling on the Supertram system.

How long is the consultation open for?

The consultation will run for 4 weeks and will close at noon on Monday 3rd March 2025.
