Developed by the South Yorkshire Housing Association as part of the organisation’s mission to support people across the region, Good Work Skills is an innovative programme that helps residents with mental and physical health conditions, as well as people experiencing low wellbeing, to find and keep quality employment.

Programme participants are supported to identify their key strengths and with the support of a keyworker, earn digital badges that can be used in in CVs, on job sites and in interviews. It’s part of a new micro-accreditation scheme, developed by City and Guilds and the Royal Society of the Arts (RSA). Good Work Skills is designed to be flexible and modular, so learners can earn the badges while job-searching and build on them when in work. In addition, learners are given access to one-to-one support from a keyworker and a wide range of wellbeing support such counselling and online mental health care.
